Jonah Hammer Dyer
Jonah was raised in Phoenix, Arizona. Shortly after graduating from high school, he served a full-time, two year mission for his church in the Yucatán Peninsula. Upon returning, he attended Arizona State University and received a bachelor's degree in Psychology.
Jonah came to Iowa to attend Drake University Law School. While there, he participated in the American Bar Association Arbitration Team and the Drake Journal of Agricultural Law, where he served as Associate Editor. He also participated in the Advanced Criminal Defense Clinic, where he tried and won his first jury trial. During law school, he focused his course work in litigation and was awarded the American Jurisprudence Award for Trial Advocacy. He graduated from Drake Law School with Honors and earned the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Certificate.
Upon graduation from law school, Jonah co-founded the law firm of Kemp Sease & Dyer (now Sease & Wadding), where he and the other founders worked tirelessly to build a successful law firm from the ground up. After nearly two years of successfully representing clients in a wide range of cases including, criminal defense matters, landlord/tenant issues, car accident cases, construction disputes, child custody, and child support modifications, he left the firm to form JHD Law.
Now Jonah focuses solely on criminal defense. He's tried over 30 jury trials in cases dealing in serious drug offenses, sex crimes, and violent felonies. He never pressures his clients to "take a deal." If they want a trial, a trial they'll get. Every time.
When not in the office, Jonah loves to spend time with his wife and their ten children.
